Embark on a daytime tour of the theater to step into the shoes of these stars and gain a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes magic. Note, The Opry is about 20 minutes outside of the immediate downtown area. You will need to drive or join a tour bus to view this attraction.
2. Frist Art Museum:
Transitioning from the harmonious chords of the Opry House, we venture into the realm of visual art at the Frist Art Museum. Housed in a stunning art deco building, it showcases a diverse range of exhibitions from local and international artists, making it a cultural epicenter in the heart of the city – and a great way to enjoy something indoors on those hot Nashville months! The Frist is located very close to the downtown area, making it a short walking or Lyft ride away. Also note, that exhibits rotate monthly, so be sure to check out what is featured during your stay in Nashville.
3. The Country Music Hall of Fame:
No visit to Nashville is complete without paying homage to the legends of country music at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Immerse yourself in this genre’s rich history and vibrant evolution while exploring an extensive collection of memorabilia and interactive exhibits.
The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is the sanctuary for this beloved American art form, preserving an impressive collection of over 2.5 million artifacts. According to Joe Nashville, this museum is on the list if you could “only pick 3”. Its sprawling layout includes two floors of gallery space, showcasing both permanent and temporary exhibits. Inside the Country Music Hall of Fame, visitors have access to three dining establishments and four retail outlets,
all open to the public. This is definitely a 2-3 hour trip.The museum is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Pro-tip: If you decided to visit The Country Music Hall of Fame upon arrival or departure of your Nashville Trip, they will hold your luggage for you, totally free of charge.
4. RCA Studio B:
The historic RCA Studio B, where music legends like Elvis Presley, Chet Atkins, Eddy Arnold, and The Everly Brothers once laid down tracks. This place now serves as an educational space for students in the Nashville area. This tour takes about 1-hour and can only be purcahsed through The Country Music Hall of Fame or authorized sales representatives. They do offer bundle ticket prices where you can tour The Museum and The Studios for $39-$50 per person. If you have the opportunity to go, we highly recommend it. This historic studio offers an intimate glimpse into the creative process that shaped some of the most beloved songs in music history. 5. Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention:
The Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville is renowned for its exceptional service, amenities, and nine acres of stunning indoor gardens. These gardens house 50,000 tropical plants, rare international blooms, and Southern species, curated and cared for by a dedicated team of 20 full-time horticulturists. The resort’s atriums create breathtaking horticultural wonderlands, maintained at a consistent temperature of 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit and 55 percent humidity.

6. Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum:
Delve deeper into the musical tapestry of Nashville at the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. Founded by songwriter Joe Chambers, the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum opened in 2006 and is geared towards historians and music buffs. Celebrating the often unsung heroes behind the scenes, this museum pays tribute to session musicians, producers, and engineers who have shaped the sound of countless recordings (not just the artists themselves).
Among its cherished artifacts are instruments that played pivotal roles in the original recordings of legendary artists such as: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Hank Williams Sr., George Harrison, Frank Sinatra, The Supremes, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Chicago, and many others. The Musicians Hall of Fame is located on the first floor of the Nashville Municipal Audiorium, making it a short walk or ride from the main downtown area.
7. Ole Smoky Distillery & Yee-Haw Brewery:
Experience the flavors of the South at the Ole Smoky Distillery & Yee-Haw Brewery. These two experience are in one, located at 6th and Peabody. Sample a variety of locally crafted moonshines, whiskeys, and craft beers while taking in the lively atmosphere of this vibrant venue. Though Ole Smokey does limit to 7 samples per person, you can top off you moonshine buzz with a beer from Yee-Haw next door.

8. Cumberland River Kayaking:
Are you looking for something different outside of the city? For a refreshing outdoor adventure, embark on a kayaking journey along the Cumberland River. Cumberland Kayak Adventure offers three separate kayaking routes, our favorite being right down the Cumberland River adjacent to the Nashville skyline! Don’y worry the river flows generally west, so you are pushed down the river with ease, making this adventure suitable for all skill levels.
9. Nashville Bus Tours:
There are a variety of bus tours in Nashville. Of course, we have to tell you about our favorite with Joe Nashville. Belcourt is a nonprofit cultural institution dedicated to presenting an array of independent, documentary, world, repertory and classic cinema. This neighborhood is lively and very walkable, often nicknames “Belcourt”. After catching a show, explore the surrounding streets lined with charming restaurants and boutique shops. Between Fido cafe, Jeni’s Ice Cream Shop, Sushi 88, HopDaddy Burgers, there is something for everyone.
