The sound of live music coming from Broadway, the historic value amongst the buildings and array of events that bring in vibrant crowds from around the world just proves that our city is better than yours. Now, we are not trying to start a fight… it is just simply true. Nashville offers an atmosphere for everyone, whether it be bustling streets and loud music, old Honky Tonks or a sophisticated lounge with fine dining. We truly have it all and would be glad to show you around on tour to see this and everything in between.
Cool Factor #1 – Nashville Has a Variety of Music
Similar to Las Vegas, Nashville is a city that never misses a beat but with music! It is nicknamed Music City, aftercall. You are in the heart of the music industry in the south and it is not just country music. No matter what genre you enjoy listening to, there will be locations where you can hear it all. Jam out at The Basement, enjoy some Jazz at the Black Rabbit, experience new Indie sounds at Mercy Lounge, and the list goes on. If you are interested in the history of music, hit the Jefferson Sound Museum to learn about the entertainment that took place on Jefferson Street and become educated on what music and artists led us here today. In Nashville, the music scene is all around you; immerse yourself in it.
Nashville is the cornerstone of country, bluegrass and R&B. While you are here, you will hear songs from the past and present and witness up-and-coming artists before they make it to the big stage. Musicians from all over the world move to Nashville to start their music career. There are endless possibilities to “make it” in this city, even if it is just starting out on a street corner with your acoustic. Record labels like Infinity Cat, Tennessee Recording Company and Big Machine are always on the lookout for new talent. On one of our van tours, you will hear about local hidden gems, songwriter cafes, and tidbits on where specific artists got their “big break. Be sure not to miss it!
Cool Factor #2 – Food from Many Different Cultures
Nashville also has an assortment of food from all different cultures. One of our favorite places to visit is the farmer’s market. When you walk into the silo-structured building, there is an ample amount of delicious food to choose from. There is Nashville Crepes, a vegan café, Jamaican restaurant, South-American dishes, and much more. When you walk outside to the fresh breeze in the covered sale area, there are vendors with home-grown produce, organic jellies and jams, and homemade baked goods. Another favorite would be Assembly Food Hall located right downtown, perfect for a quick, yet cultured, Nashville lunch while you explore the honkey tonk and shops on Broadway. Nashville’s food culture is like no other – taste for yourself!
Cool Factor #3 – Bars, Bars and More Bars
Ok people. It is no secret that in Nashville, we love our bars. And we do not necessarily mean your traditional biker-bar. A Lot of locals call it the “adult’s playground”. Music City is filled with honkey tonks, listening rooms, jazz clubs and celebrity bars. Many hit downtown, which is never a bad option, but we can offer you an insider look. On the side streets, you will find Skull’s Rainbow Room that offers Jazz and a Burlesque show, Bobby’s Hotel Rooftop Bar with igloos in the winter and Bobby’s Idle Hour Tavern (unrelated to the former) where you might just spot someone famous people mixed in with the crowd. You can never go wrong with local favorites from a Joe Nashville van tour.
At the time of writing this blog, there is also a new bar in town called Sinatra Bar and Lounge. They host live music and offer fine dining in the heart of Printer’s Alley. Sinatra Bar and Lounge is in the 1880s-built Queen Anne-style Southern Turf building right off Printer’s Alley. The historic site sticks out like a sore thumb with the beautiful half tower design on one side. When you try out this unique bar in town, make sure to try Jack Daniels whiskey; it was Sinatra’s favorite drink.
